Home Remedy For Decrease Toothache Pain

A toothache is primarily caused by tooth decay in most people. Bacteria that live in your mouth thrive on the sugars and starches in the food you eat. These bacteria form a sticky plaque that clings to the surface of your teeth.

Acids produced by the bacteria in plaque can eat through the hard enamel, which is the white coating on the outside of your teeth, creating a cavity. The first sign of decay may be a sensation of pain when you eat something cold, hot or sweet. A toothache often indicates that your dentist will need to work on your teeth.

If you are experiencing fever, foul-tasting discharge, gum redness, pain and swelling then you should visit a dentist because it could be an indication of a serious infection that may require antibiotic's and dental work. The following information is on how to mix and use essential oils to treat a toothache.

Alternative Toothache Pain Bearable Ways

A toothache is far from death, but someone who suffers this disease will get an extremely painful experience. So what do you do if you have a toothache and can't get to the dentist immediately? There are some useful remedies you might have around your home. These home remedies will very helpful to make the pain of toothache bearable and sometimes even get rid of it. Here are some of those products I have used in the past and found good results with.

Salt
Regular table salt can also take the sting out of a toothache. Add a couple of tablespoons of salt to warm water and rinse your mouth out around it. This works almost immediately but will not last long. When using salt try not to use it to many times in the same day. This will leave your mouth feeling swollen and dried out. I usually rinse my mouth out with salt at the first sign of a toothache.

Oral Gel
Oral gel can be very useful for a toothache. I personally do not use this often but I do carry it around with me for emergencies. The main problem with oral gel is getting it placed in the right spot. To place it in the right spot and avoid putting your tongue to sleep a q-tip is best to apply the gel with. Oral gel does not usually last long.

Tea Tree Oil
Tea tree oil is natural antibacterial and anti-infection oil. Place a few drops of tea tree oil on a damp toothbrush and brush the tooth. This does not have a pleasant taste and has a strong smell so do not use more then a few drops. I have also tried rinsing my mouth out with a few drops of oil mixed with water. This did work but tasted really bad. Adding a few drops of Tea Tree Oil to your toothbrush a few times a week is also a good prevention method. This oil can be purchased at your local health food store and some Wal-Mart's sell it on the same aisle as the vitamins.

Clove Oil
Clove oil is the best product I have found to relive a toothache. I found it in a package with cotton balls and tweezers. I recommend using those to apply this. Clove oil is very strong and does burn if placed on the skin. It has an extremely strong smell and will bring tears to your eyes. While it is unpleasant to use it works wonders. The pain usually stops immediately and kills the infection very fast. This can sometimes be found in toothache kits or at a natural food store.

Off course, the very best thing for a toothache is a dentist. If a dentist is not a possibility at the time some of these might give your relief. Always be careful with a toothache since an infected tooth can lead to many serious medical problems.

Natural Remedy for Gingivitis, Toothaches and Mouth Sores

Everyone has a variety of bacteria in their mouth. Some have more than others. This bacterium helps you by beginning the digestive process. Excess bacteria in your mouth have now been found to cause more than tooth decay, gingivitis or gum disease. So, you need to know, even though you might not have gingivitis, how to control these plaque-building bacteria in your mouth.

Bacteria that create gingivitis live in your plaque and cause your gums to inflame, bleed, and separate from your teeth. You can also have bad breath when you have gingivitis. In more severe cases, your gums become sore, teeth hurt, gums recede, and teeth loosen.

To stop the inflammation and gum separation use this natural remedy to kill some of these bacteria and strengthen your gums in your mouth.
Here are the herbs and the formula you will need to make a remedy for a mild case of gingivitis:

  • 2 parts white oak bark herb – powder
  • 1 part myrrh gum herb – power or granules
  • 3/4 part Peppermint leaves converted to powder
  • ½ part anise herb – power or seeds
  • 1/8 part clove - powder
  • If herbs and leaves are not in powder form, grind them in a coffee grinder. Use this formula to make as much powder as you want.
  • Place the mixture into a small container. Can use a small-unused vitamin bottle.
Mix a small amount and use a tablespoon as measuring tool. For example, 2 tablespoons of white oak, 1 tablespoon of myrrh gum, ¾ tablespoon of peppermint leaves, and so on. The measurements do not have to be so precise.

How to use it:

To control bacteria in your mouth, use this power once a week. If you have gingivitis, you can use this 3 times a day. Place some powder on your toothbrush and brush your teeth and gums. After brushing spit out, a few time, the saliva and residue powder. Don't rinse out your mouth since you want to keep the active herb powders in your month. You can swallow any that remains in your mouth with no problem.
